Unternehmen Siemens AG Organisation EVP Global Functions Geschäftsbereich Strategic Procurement Vollzeit / Teilzeit Vollzeit Erfahrungsniveau Fachexperte / Mitarbeiter mit Berufserfahrung A Snapshot of Your Day  As the Head (m/f/d) of Supplier Quality & Development – Systems, you play a pivotal role within the corporate SE Strategic Procurement function and the SQD team. Your responsibilities include directing a group of specialists in commodities, materials, quality control, and manufacturing processes to support Strategic Procurement’s global Electrical Systems commodities for Siemens Energy’s expanding product portfolio. Together with your team of SQE’s, Commodity Engineers and Material Experts you collaborate with Strategic Commodity Managers to implement commodity strategies that secure capable, high-quality, and cost-effective supply chains for our operations. You also work closely with cross-functional teams to develop technology roadmaps that foster innovation in both design and supply chain management, oversee implementation from concept to technical capability assessment to sourcing decision, and provide technical guidance to Procurement colleagues to address supply chain challenges effectively.  How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Be a thought leader and drive innovation & technology in Electrical Systems commodities and new ways of working through Agentics and Automation
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the global supply chains for assigned corporate commodities, including regional location, technical capabilities and capacities, technology innovations and SWAT analysis 
  • Form strong working partnerships with Electrical Systems Commodity Managers for meaningful technical contributions to the global commodity strategies, develop Technology Roadmaps and ultimately deliver results to the targets 
  • Drive technical standards and material and/or manufacturing technologies to an implementation ready level and lead implementation with close collaboration with Engineering / R&D from the respective businesses 
  • Work closely with SQD Supplier Development to deliver world class technical assessments of supplier’s technical and performance capabilities 
  • Lead Supplier Audits and Capability Assessments for corporate managed global Systems suppliers and technical support needed to assess and qualify new suppliers (R4B) for corporate managed Components commodities 
  • Be the “go-to” technical service provider to the businesses as the key experts or commodity engineers on systems, material / manufacturing topics To assist (upon demand) BA led Product & Process Qualifications (PPQ & R2O) 
  • Contribute to Supplier Development plans to ensure a fully capable supply chain
  • Prevent and/or solve technical quality or performance challenges at our suppliers 
  • Deliver efficient and effective resource and budget plans 
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality or Manufacturing / Operations fields or similar, Masters / PhD preferred 
  • Extensive professional and leadership experience in PM, Engineering, Quality or Supply Chain Management in the power generation, electrification or other heavy industrials working in a project business (e.g. power plant erection & commissioning, oil & gas, energy infrastructure, etc.) 
  • Excellent project management skills 
  • Innovation mindset and challenger to legacy approach 
  • Executive mindset with ability to negotiate, convince others and operate in different cultures / challenging environments to achieve business objectives
  • People oriented and performance minded approach 
  • Willingness / ability to travel

In Weiz baut Siemens Energy Austria Transformatoren. Sie bringen den Strom zwischen Kraftwerk und Netz auf die richtige Spannung. Rund 120 große Geräte verlassen das Werk pro Jahr, dazu etwa tausend kleinere; vier von fünf gehen ins Ausland. Wer hier anfängt, arbeitet an Technik, die in rund 70 Ländern läuft.

Ein Transformator wandelt elektrische Spannung um. Ohne ihn käme kein Strom über weite Strecken vom Kraftwerk bis in Haushalt und Betrieb. Genau diese Geräte sind das Kerngeschäft in Weiz, und gefertigt wird dort seit über 130 Jahren. Auf rund 54.000 Quadratmetern entstehen große Leistungstransformatoren ebenso wie kleinere Verteiltransformatoren für den Massenbedarf. Etwa 1.200 Menschen arbeiten am Standort. In den Hallen stehen Elektrotechniker und Mechatroniker an den Wickelmaschinen, in den Büros rechnen Konstrukteure die nächste Gerätegeneration durch.

Weiz gehört zu Siemens Energy Austria mit Sitz in Wien. Österreichweit beschäftigt das Unternehmen rund 2.200 Menschen an drei Standorten, und dahinter steht der Konzern Siemens Energy mit über 100.000 Beschäftigten weltweit. Für die Belegschaft in der Steiermark verbindet sich damit zweierlei: ein Arbeitgeber, der seit Generationen in der Region fertigt, und die Reichweite eines globalen Energietechnik-Konzerns. Rund 80 Prozent der Weizer Produktion gehen in den Export, in etwa 70 Länder.

Ausgebildet wird viel. In Weiz lernen Jugendliche technische Berufe wie Elektrotechnik oder Mechatronik, die Lehre dauert dreieinhalb Jahre und läuft zum Teil in einer eigenen Lehrlingsakademie gemeinsam mit dem bfi Steiermark. Zuletzt waren bis zu 78 Lehrlinge gleichzeitig im Betrieb. Und der Standort wächst weiter: In Wollsdorf hat Siemens Energy zusätzliche Produktionsfläche für Transformatoren aus der Windkraft aufgebaut.
